About the partnership

With over 230 stores across the UK, Wickes is one of the largest suppliers of DIY and home improvement products.

Inspired by our vision of a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, Wickes chose to join forces with us because they recognise the importance of mental health at every age, and especially for young people. At the start of January 2020, Wickes pledged to raise an incredible £2,000,000 over three years for YoungMinds.

Our partnership with Wickes continues to excel and delight us. Whether it’s stores breaking 50p records, staff cycling coast to coast, throwing excellent golf days or a Wickes colleague wearing a banana suit all day, they clearly just love to wear yellow and celebrate all things YoungMinds.

We’re now into the last year of our partnership, but we know they are emboldened more than ever before to do all they can to support young people’s mental health, to ultimately show they are not alone.

Kelly, from the Wickes head office says, 'I am so proud to be a part of an organisation who have chosen to support YoungMinds as their charity partner. Mental health should not be a taboo subject at any age. The emotional wellbeing of children and young people is just as important as their physical health and it's brilliant that a greater awareness of this is happening.'

Wickes Paddle the Thames

This summer, a brave group of Wickes colleagues will be taking on the daunting challenge of kayaking 180 miles of the Thames over five days in July. This won't be for the faint-hearted, but thanks to the support of British Canoeing, this will be an incredible testament to Wickes' unrivalled support for YoungMinds.

While this challenge will be gruelling at times, they're hoping to raise £50,000 and, in doing so, to raise awareness of the work YoungMinds do. This event is part of the outstanding commitment Wickes have towards YoungMinds, and will be an amazing milestone in our partnership, which comes to an end this year.
